Flowye Licensing System — For Buyers
Last updated: 11 April 2026
This page is informational. It is meant to explain how Flowye Licensing affects buyers and end users in plain language.
It is not a separate purchase contract with Dummics. The binding creator-facing contract is the Creator Terms of Service. Data handling is described in the Privacy Notice.
What Flowye Licensing is
Flowye Licensing is a Unity-based activation and protection system used by some VRChat avatar creators.
If you buy an avatar that uses Flowye Licensing, the avatar package may ask you to complete an activation step before you upload it to your own VRChat account.
The avatar sale itself is handled by the creator and their storefront or marketplace. Flowye does not run the creator's shop and does not become the seller of the avatar just because the avatar uses this system.
What applies to buyers
For buyers and end users, the practical model is:
- the creator's storefront terms, refund rules, and product promises govern the avatar purchase;
- Flowye Licensing only handles activation, verification, and licensing-related checks for avatars that use the system;
- you do not buy a separate Flowye subscription or plugin license as a buyer.
If a creator tells you an avatar uses Flowye Licensing, they should also tell you that activation may be required.
How activation usually works
The exact flow depends on the creator and the configured provider integration, but it typically looks like this:
- You buy an avatar from the creator's chosen storefront.
- You open the avatar package in Unity.
- You complete the activation or verification step required for that avatar.
- If the license state is valid, the avatar can be uploaded to your own VRChat account.
Depending on the provider, verification may use information such as:
- a Payhip key or activation-related state;
- a Gumroad order, license, or similar provider identifier;
- equivalent identifiers needed by another configured provider integration.
Flowye does not inspect creator sales performance or creator revenue analytics for this process.
What data may be used
To run activation and prevent abuse, Flowye Licensing may process limited information such as:
- your VRChat user ID and display name;
- activation timestamps and success or failure state;
- avatar, license, or package references;
- processed or hashed technical security signals where applicable;
- limited provider verification identifiers needed to confirm licensing state.
For more detail, see the Privacy Notice.
What Flowye does not do
Flowye Licensing is intentionally narrow. It does not:
- act as the seller of the avatar;
- take over the creator's refund policy or customer support obligations;
- inspect creator revenue or creator sales analytics;
- scan your unrelated personal files or monitor unrelated device activity.
If something goes wrong
If activation fails or you think something is incorrect:
- Contact the avatar creator first for purchase-related or avatar-specific issues.
- If the issue appears to be about the Flowye activation system itself, use the support contact the creator provides or contact Flowye directly if appropriate.
