Buyer Activation Guide

Last updated: 14 May 2026

This page is informational. It explains how Flowye activation works for buyers and where Flowye's role starts and ends.

Activation is there to protect creators and legitimate buyers, not to get in the way.

What you bought

In most cases, you did not buy Flowye directly. You bought or received an avatar/package/protected product from a creator or storefront.

Flowye provides activation and licensing checks for protected products. Flowye is usually not the seller of the avatar/product and does not take over the creator's storefront, refund policy, product files, product quality, or avatar-specific support.

If a creator's Protected Avatar Slot expires, the slot may move into Grace and then Archived Mode. Expired slots are archived, not intentionally broken. Existing protected releases should not be intentionally broken only because the creator does not renew, but New Provisioning, new buyer activation/provisioning, new managed downloads, rebuilds, managed distribution, monitoring, and creator dashboard actions may pause after expiry.

What Flowye does

Flowye helps creators protect their own distribution workflow. A protected product may ask you to complete activation or licensing checks in a Unity/package/import/activation workflow.

Creators remain responsible for selling only products they can support and provision. If new activation or provisioning is unavailable because a slot has expired, contact the creator first so they can renew, repair, or explain the product status.

Activation is designed to stay out of the way during normal Unity work, while still allowing creators to protect access when needed.

Why activation may be blocked

Activation may be blocked or suspended for valid reasons, such as:

  • invalid, missing, refunded, chargebacked, or revoked access;
  • license, product, or buyer records that do not match;
  • product unavailable state or creator configuration;
  • abuse, tampering, circumvention, or security signals;
  • use outside the creator's purchased protected slot scope;
  • technical issues that need creator or Flowye support.

Normal archive after expiry is different from Suspended Mode. Suspended Mode may apply for abuse, fraud, chargebacks, security issues, legal issues, platform risk, harmful packages, or use outside the purchased slot scope.

If you think an activation was blocked by mistake, contact the creator first for purchase/product issues. Contact Flowye if it appears to be a technical activation issue.

What data is used

Buyer activation uses limited data needed to verify access, prevent abuse, troubleshoot activation, and keep protected products working for legitimate buyers.

This may include license or activation references, protected product references, activation status, error state, product availability state, refund or chargeback state, and limited technical/security signals.

If Flowye later provides managed distribution or Public Availability Check features, related logs may include signed-link, download/access, object-storage, creator-provided identifier, request/response, rate-limit, and status metadata as described in the Privacy Notice.

For details, see the Privacy Notice.

Who to contact

Issue Contact

Refund for avatar/product purchase Creator or storefront
Flowye activation error Creator first; Flowye if it appears to be a technical activation issue
VRChat upload/account/platform problem VRChat docs/support

What Flowye does not handle

Flowye does not normally handle:

  • creator avatar/product refunds;
  • missing avatar files or wrong downloads;
  • avatar quality issues;
  • creator storefront purchase issues;
  • avatar-specific setup unrelated to activation;
  • VRChat account, upload, platform, or moderation issues;
  • Unity editor/platform issues unrelated to Flowye activation.

Creators handle avatar/product files, product quality, storefront purchase issues, avatar-specific support, and avatar refund requests. VRChat handles VRChat account/platform/upload issues. Unity handles Unity platform/editor issues.

VRChat and Unity boundary

Flowye is independent from VRChat and Unity. Flowye is not affiliated with, approved by, endorsed by, or sponsored by VRChat or Unity.

Flowye does not override VRChat, Unity, marketplace, storefront, creator economy, or third-party asset rules. See the VRChat & Unity Boundary Guide.
